8 bit female characters bust

Entering the sculpting challenge over at gameartisans.org again. This week was side kicks. Following week is favorite female characters. 


I had to look pretty hard to find female characters that were from 8 16 or 32 bit video games.


(Note: the order of these does not imply importance or favorites)


1. Princess Zelda from Legend of Zelda

2. Princess Peach from mario bros

3. Samus Aran from metroid

4. Kootiepie Koopa from Mario bros 3

5.  Misty from Pokemon

6. Lucca from Chrono Trigger (back from the last list)

7. Elaine Marley from Monkey Island

8. Julia from Zombies Ate My Neighbors

9. Morrigan from Darkstalkers

10. Felicia from Darkstalkers

11. Sonya from Mortal Kombat

12. Sindel from Mortal Kombat

13. Sheeva from Mortal Kombat

There were more but I wanted to simplify this list a bit. More specifically there were multiple characters from MK that were basically the same person but colored differently.

I don't have to start on this till the weekend so some help in choosing would be AWESOME!

Keep in mind this will be a bust so mid chest up, some characters lend themselves to that sort of sculpture a bit more than others...

Black Mage 8bit sculpt

Decided on the black mage for the 8bit challenge over at gameartisans.org. Didn't get around to texturing it but I think it's a decent start of a concept.

8bit Video game Side Kicks

Ok so I decided to enter a sculpting challenge over at gameartisans.org


the challenge is to take an 8bit character of your choice based on a theme for that week. (This week is video game sidekicks, next week is favorite female game character)


I realized I wasn't entirely sure who all the sidekicks were in 8bit games so I decided to compile a list. The following is that list. Some of these might not seem like side kicks but I felt they were close enough.

2. Rush (megamans dog)

4. Bernard from maniac mansion

I want to get this sculpted by the end of the week. "yes that gives me 3 days or so" so I need to pick one of these and get started! gah! I may come back and pick through them to do another sculpture. I'd rather pick the ones that haven't already made it to 3d though such as toad on the list there.

Lost to the internet

I feel like I recently lost a good friend who I thought was different than their current behavior is showing them to be. I've worked with this "random" guy for years now and we've had a lot of good times and designed things together and he even helped me get a few jobs and I helped him get some jobs.

I recently started working with another friend of mine on a project that I had talked to them about before and thought it would end up being a fun project. My "random" friend and I were hanging out and I started talking to him about it. As it turns out the friend of mine whom I had decided to work on this project with was someone my "random" friend did not like. He explained to me how he disliked this person a bit but I didn't take it too seriously, just a friend being paranoid. Well not a week into the project my "random" friend decided to stop talking to me, blocked my emails, blocked me on skype, and removed me on the friends lists we were associated with each other on as well as delete anything on his online store that we worked on together and stopped answering phone calls.

All of that combined really kind of hurt me, one of my primary goals in life is to be good to people around me and when someone does this it makes me feel like I failed someone and since he won't talk to me I don't know what I did.

To make this worse, the last thing he said to me when I confronted him about this was and I'm paraphrasing because it was rather crude what he actually said, (I need to make money). I didn't realize our friendship was based on whether he could make money, I feel sorry for him now and I wish I could have helped him somehow.

Oh well...


Random dude feel free to talk to me again some day, I'll focus on my other friends and work projects for now. Hope all is well!
